Technicolove is a magic technic. Have you heard of it?! Reds, Blues, Yellows to beat the boredom of a long-standing relationship. Si! Yes! It works! La Minervetta is a very special place, part of my more extensive guide to the Amalfi Coast.
It’s located near Sorrento, with views that you would never imagine when going down the little staircase that leads to the entrance. A maison rather than a hotel, it was built in the 1950’s by the current owner’s grandparents. You can still feel the Danish influence of Wanda, the Danish grand-mother in the choice of furniture such as the Arne Jacobsen chairs dotting the house. The exuberant colour palette is the perfect antidote to bad mood days. The rooms have bay windows facing the Vesuvius volcano in the background, wood and ceramics mixed skilfully all throughout. The pool is secluded in the garden, so private you could think it’s your own. And going down 15′ the steep staircase, you arrive in a charming little harbour with lounge chairs to rent by the day, and ladders taking you down in the Mediterranean sea from the terraces.
I cannot think of a better place to keep the flame alive in this little part of the world. Amore, Amore, Amore.
