Can you believe that (almost) all of the nice summer house rentals that I was looking at for France are already gone? Crazy… we’re not even in February yet. I should have learnt my lesson from last year when we actually secured a summer house in December for the following July. It was outside Aix en Provence, a beautiful bastide, and I’ll be sure to write a post on it at some point.
Unless you are set on your destination, it’s not easy to start a search. I personally prefer to choose based on the personality of the house rather than the exact location. I figure that with a summer rental, we’re likely to spend a lot of time at home / in the garden, living at a slow pace, so the place should better be welcoming. Homelidays is a good website because the houses are rented by the owners directly, hence they usually take good care of it. It’s quite user friendly with a large choice of properties in all budgets, all over the world. If you have in mind to rent something this summer, get your act together soon or you’ll be getting the last crumps of the cake.
