I just talked about the new Milk Decor and family interiors from around the world…Well there’s another good book out this month. A completely different approach but somehow on the same topic: Where Children Sleep
It’s a photographic essay from James Mollison showcasing the bedrooms of 56 children from around the world. The book is actually aimed at children 9-13 years old.
This is 8 year old Harrison who lives in a mansion in NJ, USA
This is a four-year-old boy who lives on the outskirts of Rome, Italy. He and his family all sleep on the mattress.
This is four-year-old Kaya who lives in an apartment in Tokyo, Japan
This is fourteen-year-old Rhiannon who lives in Darvel, Scotland.
Each pair of photograph (the child and his bedroom) comes with a caption explaining the story of the child in question. It’s a very engaging book, a visual way to show the intimacies and also the inequalities all over the world. A good educational tool. Photos courtesy of Creative Review
