This post is not so much about family travel but I had to share my discovery, because I am still in shock. There are some travel companies out there who offer luxury packages to tour North Korea. Check this out. Just the words luxury and North Korea in the same sentence don’t make any sense to me, and if anything, repulse me.
It gives me food for thought as we are currently planning our first 3 weeks in South East Asia, which will be in Burma. Long perceived as a no-no tourist destination for fear to support the tough regime, it’s no longer the case. Private enterprises have flourished and now provide a wonderful alternative to the independent travelers. Or so they say. We can confirm after we’ve been there next January.
