Coming straight from Burma to Thailand feels a bit like going to DisneyLand, I don’t mean it in a sarcastic way. I now realize that going from country to country in our round the world is actually going to be an interesting way to compare places in a same region. It was literally just an 1h25min flight from Yangoon to Chiang Mai and the 2 countries share a border, yet people say that Burma is like Thailand 60 years ago. I think they’re right.
Everything caters to the tourist in Chiang Mai, for all tastes, for all budgets. It’s extremely child-friendly, and also teenager-friendly. There are tons of outdoor activities and the jungle is right there. More in another post…
