The North Face family, Made in Vietnam

We were very cold during the second part of our trip in Vietnam. Did not expect it could be grey, rainy and chilly at this time of the year. Best time to visit, we learnt, is April-May. So when I stumbled upon a store selling warm North Face jackets in Hue, I could not resist. Did they conveniently fall from a truck? Are they shameless copies, Made in Vietnam?

Photo above, on the boat in Halong Bay, warm and cozy on the deck.

I don’t know, and I probably did something unethical by buying one for each of us (for about $70 total)…but we were really cold.

  1. I think when your family is freezing and you don’t want to end up trekking back to hotel etc.. it really doesn’t matter too much about where the thing is made right? Or if it’s the real deal. Which it probably is because so much clothing is made in Vietnam! And since it didn’t have to be shipped in containers to be transported anywhere.. you got the best deal. ; )
