The legend of St Christopher, protector of travel

St Christopher is the protector of travel (something I recently found out in Australia). In the sixties, surfers wore this medal as a good luck piece to protect them while surfing. I picked it up at a really cool surfing shop in Byron Bay, called Hook Up Surf, one for Marcelo, one for Amalya.

The story also says that the St Christophe medal was synonymous with fleeting romance as guys and girls exchanged them as a symbol of “going steady”.

I think it’s brought us good luck indeed as I am writing this facing a sunset on an island in Fiji…but more on that later as I still have quite a few things to share about our journey up the East Coast of Australia…

… to be continued.
