Now look carefully…
See something incredible in the details?
Jason LaFerrera is a New York based artist (currently studying mathematics at Columbia University, love the combo! Hope my little Marcelo reads this one day!) who manipulates old maps digitally to create fauna and fowl. In his statement, LaFerrera explains how he questions our relationship with the boundaries we draw to divide the natural world. The patterns of forests and shores often become an animal’s feathers or fur, while the rings of topography often trace out wings or antlers.
I find it beautiful and incredibly well thought. You can buy his work on Etsy.
