Travel illustrations, by Rui Ricardo

Rui Ricardo is a talented illustrator from Porto, Portugal, a city I found incredibly creative when we last visited 3 years ago (don’t search for a post, I never got a chance to do one!).

He draws inspiration from the worlds of comics/ manga to illustrate places in the world where he’s been. I find his travel posters very sexy and evocative too, exactly what you’d want from…well, a travel poster.

I’ve played a little game of linking some of Rui Ricardo’s travel posters to some of my articles…in case you’d like some factual background on the posters that you like:

Once Upon a Time in Agra

Rumble in the Jungle in Chiang Mai

Featuring Zid Zid Kids on Morocco

Celebrating the Year of the Cat in Vietnam

Shop ’til you drop in Rajasthan

Bali is Back

  1. Oh wow, I love his style. It’s so art deco! The Vietnam and Bali ones caught my eye. I’d love to frame these up in my home. Wowsa!
