Waanaki is a new e-shop with a fresh new eye. Totally inspired and inspiring.
Nanette, the founder shares her approach:
I like to keep up with current design, textiles and art (contemporary, folk, artisanal, handcrafted/handmade, native and indigenous) across the globe. I am also very inspired through being a mother, nature and my travels, which explains the nomad feel. I look for wearable children’s vintage clothing that children can use, play and can get dirty in. I also look for new and vintage home-wares that would bring warmth into a child’s space . Waanaki will also release essential children’s pieces and homewares that are modern, warm and vintage inspired in the near future and will look forward to collaborating with designers as well.
And her moodboard:
Nanette has a real talent for spotting beautiful pieces. And the sound of Waanaki is like music to my ears, meaning “to live undisturbed, to live in peace” in Ojibwemowin, the North American indigenous language… Migwich Nanette (thank you).
