You only have 18 summers of family travel…

I am sorry if I have not posted anything in a month. Where has time gone since baby Lior was born?! I have a couple of  wonderful interviews to publish, and a few interesting things to talk about…but…so please come again! Here’s an observation in the meantime, especially for those parents sceptical about taking the children on trips.

At the 3am feed last night, I read (who knows where, while surfing on my iPhone, the only thing that keeps me going at night) that, if you doubt about the use of travelling with your children, you need to think about it that way: You only have 18 summers to take your children on a family trip.

If you take away the first couple of years when they’re so little that they won’t remember, and those summers which they’ll spend with their headsets on their ears blasting music, then you really have just about 10-12 years of summer memories to build together in a lifetime…

With this in mind, happy Back-to-School everybody! Start planning for summer 2013 then!

  1. i like that! That is a good thing to keep in mind, it is a bit heartbreaking and stimulating at the same time…we were already thinking of taking the kids (4 and 5) on a month long trip somewhere in Europe/throught Europe in a van with our Tipi and our bycicles in the back. Your quote is definitely going to help to make that happen

  2. This is SO TRUE!! And why my husband and I make sure to make each vacation count with kiddo. Because we already see our neighbors kids who no longer want to go camping with their parents anymore (they’ve reached the dreaded teenage years). It’s so bittersweet. You want to let go as parents but.. still enjoy being with your kids. Love this post.. Hope you’re doing well and surviving the days and nights with baby Lior Vanessa! xo

    • I like the fact that you have a ritual every summer with Virginia Beach..I think it’s so nice for the children to have a point of reference for their summer memories! We don’t have one yet but I am searching..maybe it will be the south of France..the problem is that we are too curious always wanting to discover new places..but it would nice to settle on a specific one now! x

  3. SOOO true….ıf you thınk lıke that ımagıne me as a granma…see you soon.KISSES…..
