They’ve been designed by Chilean-born, London-raised, New York-based artist Sebastian Errazuriz after his studio was paralyzed by the hurricane and he felt powerless in the face of nature (ahaha..like my little play on the words?). The idea of the design occurred to him after seeing the water line marked on the walls of the flooded galleries in New York’s Chelsea art district.
I’ve always been a New Yorker at heart. I last visited the city as a tourist with my “American” son Marcelo exactly a year ago, on a trip mother&son reconnecting with the Big Apple (Marcelo was born in New York). It’s all documented on this post: 10 New York Faves with a family in Five Days
New York is a great city to visit with the children, especially in November & December when the city is buzzing with wonderful shows, christmas trees everywhere and snowball fights in Central Park. Read also this interview of Wovenplay featuring her family favourites in the city, maybe you’ll find it inspiring to plan a trip there around Christmas.
